I’ll admit, I’ve been on the homemade products with essential oils train for a long time however I’ve never made my own hand soap. I put it in the “that’s probably more work than I want to do” category. Gah, I feel so dumb now after mixing up my own hand soap so I’m here to spread the word that you should be making your own foaming liquid hand soap, too!
Here’s what you’ll need:
1/3 cup of castile soap
2 tsp tractionated coconut oil (you could also use olive oil)
15-20 drops of lemon essential oil (found here)
liquid soap dispenser (re-use an empty one from around the house)
2/3 cup of distilled water
Yep, that’s all you’ll need!
I use a little funnel because I’m messy like that but it’s not necessary. I just pour in the castile soap followed by the fractionated coconut oil and water into my liquid soap dispenser and give it a little swirl then I drop in about 15 drop of my lemon essential oil and BAM, the perfect foamy, lemony fresh soap on the block.
